Stored Voice Function There are several recording durations that can be chosen. The pager can store up to 8 minutes of voice. So the length of each message determines the maximum number of messages that can be stored. If you prefer, the alert monitor can be programmed for fixed message lengths of 30, 60, or 120 seconds.

Voice Memo When this feature is enabled, the pager will generate a voice prompt indicating the mode of the current function switch position each time the function switch is turned or the power is turned on.

Fixed Alert This means that the tone alert will be at maximum volume regardless of the position of the volume control. If the "OFF" mode is selected, then the pagers alert tone level and voice audio level is adjusted with the volume control.

Priority Scan F1 If the pager model is configured for the priority SCAN option, then this field is set to ON and the following field is enabled and allows the user to enter the scan back time.

Alert Duration It is either FIXED or STD duration. A STD, or standard alert, lasts for the duration of tone 2 and is immediately followed by the message. A FIXED alert allows the user to set the alert duration for a time period of 480 ms (0.5 seconds) to 122400 ms (2 minutes). If the fixed alert duration is longer than Tone 2, then the user may miss all or part of the message.

Call Reminder The pager will emit an audio tone reminder alert every 2 minutes when there is an unread message in memory.

Priority Alert If a Function Switch mode is set for Frequency 1 and Vibrate, and a Call 1 paging address is received, the pager will generate a Tone Alert instead of vibrating when this option is enabled.

Privacy When this feature is enabled, the pager cannot monitor the channel when the RESET button is depressed.

Reset Function 6 methods to choose from:
  • Auto RESET: Resets the audio when carrier drops.
  • Delay N sec Auto Reset: Waits N seconds before checking carrier drop.
  • Revert SQ: Reverts to Monitor Mode after receiving a Selective Call page.
  • Manual RESET: Resets the audio only when the Reset Switch is depressed.
  • Time-out RESET: Resets after a selected amount of time only.
  • Delay AUTO_N with Revert: Wait N seconds and then behaves as monitor mode until the reset button is pushed.

Squelch Level This field sets the squelch value. Use the slide bar to select the appropriate value. The available values are from 1 to 5. The default value is 3.

Minitor IV Programming Notes

Stored Voice Function There are 4 recording durations that can be chosen: 15, 30, 60 seconds and dynamic for ISD33120 SV chip, or 20, 40, 80 seconds and dynamic for ISD4003 SV chip. The pager can store up to 2 minutes of voice. So the length of each message determines the maximum number of messages that can be stored. A dynamic message consists of 8-second blocks. The number of block used is determined by the message length

Fixed Alert If "ON" is selected, then the pager will operate in the "fixed alert" mode. This means that the tone alert will be at maximum volume regardless of the position of the volume control. If the "OFF" mode is selected, then the pagers alert tone level and voice audio level is adjusted with the volume control.

Priority Scan F1 If the pager model is configured for the priority SCAN option, then this field is set to ON and the following field is enabled and allows the user to enter the scan back time. In the "OFF" mode the pager will perform a Normal Scan function. This function will scan for the first active channel and stay on that channel until activity ceases.

Alert Duration Set the alert duration. It is either FIXED or STD duration.

Call Reminder The radio will emit an audio tone when there is an unread message in memory.

Priority Alert If a Function Switch mode is set for Frequency 1 and Vibrate, and a Call 1 paging address is received, the pager will generate a Tone Alert instead of vibrating when this option is enabled.

Privacy When this feature is enabled, the Radio cannot monitor the channel when the RESET button is depressed.
